Start with the sound
Less thinking in parameters. More thinking in music.
You reach for a compressor because you want something to feel different: a fuller vocal, a more connected mix, a little more life in a performance.
Revelio puts that intention on the canvas. Add bands as you would in an EQ, choose a frequency range and shape its dynamics directly. In Density and Transient modes, you work with the musical result without having to think about threshold or ratio. Switch a band to Manual when you want to set exactly when and how the processing responds.
The familiar gesture of an EQ. The expressive reach of spectral dynamics.
01 / Density
More density here. More room to move there.
Shape dynamic density across the spectrum. Bring the mids and highs closer together while giving busy low mids more room to breathe. Each band lets you add density or open up the dynamics, depending on what the sound needs.
↑ Increase density
Body. Detail. Glue.
Lift a Density band to bring quieter textures forward and make a frequency range feel fuller and more connected. Find the grain in a voice, the body of an instrument or the subtle layers that help a mix come together.
Try it on Vocals · Instruments · Mix buses
↓ Reduce density
Space. Contrast. Life.
Pull a Density band down to expand the dynamics in that range. Let busy low mids breathe, restore contrast in a dense texture or make room around the moments that matter.
Try it on Dense layers · Low mids · Ambience
02 / Transient
Punch where you want it. Calm where you don’t.
Bring out the snap of a snare, the pick of a guitar or the articulation of a rhythmic part. Transient mode adapts to the signal’s level, so you shape attacks without setting a threshold.
A transient can be right in one range and distracting in another. Soften a clacky midrange attack while adding definition higher up. Each band lets you enhance or reduce just the part you hear.
Adaptive · Level-independent · Enhance or soften
03 / Manual
Set the threshold. Choose what moves.
For a fixed reference, take direct control of spectral compression and expansion. Set a band’s Threshold, shape the transition with Knee and dial in the Amount and maximum Depth.
Tilt the threshold across the spectrum to change where processing begins. Catch a ringing resonance or control an unruly frequency range only when it crosses the line. Fine-tune Attack, Release and spectral Width to make the response fit.
Choose Internal or External for each band. Control which frequency ranges follow another track.
Route another track into Revelio’s sidechain in your DAW, then choose which bands listen to it. All three modes can use the external signal; other bands can keep responding to the track itself.
Recording voice and guitar together? Put Revelio on the guitar microphone and feed the vocal microphone into the sidechain. Use narrow Manual bands to reduce troublesome vocal spill in chosen frequency ranges when the singer comes in.
Target the overlap. Let the rest of the performance breathe.
Mid & Side / Stereo Link
Listen beyond the centre.
Focus each band on Mid, Side or anywhere in between. Add density to the centre, let the sides breathe or shape the transients in the ambience without treating the whole stereo image the same way.
Adjust Stereo Link to move between linked and independent left/right detection in the stereo portion of a band. Mid/Side focus works with all three modes, including bands driven by the external sidechain.
Timing / Go deeper
Shape how the sound responds.
Start with the feel of the bands. When you want to go further, open Advanced: editable speed curves let you fine-tune the character of attack and release, beyond a single time setting.
Make the response change with the size of a level difference, or with frequency. Let small movements settle gently while larger changes react faster. Give the lows more time and the highs a quicker response.
Attack and release, shaped by level difference and frequency.
Level-dependent feel
Control how quickly the envelope responds as the distance to its target changes.
Frequency-dependent timing
Shape response speed across the spectrum, from low-end weight to high-end detail.
Three modes. Their own curves.
Independent attack and release speed curves for Density, Transient and Manual let you refine each mode’s behaviour.
Made for the way you listen
Simple to reach for. Room to explore.
Stay with the big picture, or get specific. The controls are there when you need them.
Up to 16 bands
Combine Density, Transient and Manual with an independent detector source per band.
Four band shapes
Bell, low shelf, high shelf and full range. Flatten a Bell’s centre with Plateau.
Per-band detail
Timing, spectral Width, Mid/Side focus, Stereo Link and Gain Trim.
Low & High Cut
Frame the sound with adjustable cuts and slopes from 6 to 48 dB/octave.
A wider view
Scale the overall effect with Strength, blend with Mix and finish with Output.
Listen and compare
Band Solo, Listen Delta and Bypass, plus presets and A/B comparison.
A few things to know
A different approach. A familiar workflow.
Is Revelio an EQ or a compressor?
Revelio is a spectral dynamics processor. The bands feel familiar if you use an EQ, but they change how a frequency range behaves over time. Density shapes dynamic density; Transient shapes attacks; Manual offers spectral compression and expansion around a fixed threshold. A raised Density band is not simply a static EQ boost.
Do I need the Advanced curves?
No. You can work directly with the bands and their regular controls. Advanced is there when you want finer control over the response, with separate attack and release speed curves for Density, Transient and Manual processing.
Can different bands use different sidechain sources?
Each band can listen to the internal signal or to the shared external sidechain input. Route the external track in your DAW, then choose Internal or External per band. You can combine both sources in one instance.
How many activations are included in the license?
Your license includes four simultaneous activations, so you can use Revelio on up to four devices at a time. If all four are in use, you can replace the oldest activation with a new one to move to another device.
Can I try Revelio before buying?
Yes. Download the installer for your studio computer, open Revelio in your DAW and start the 14-day trial. You can purchase a license using the current price shown on this page.
